Computer help...spybot question

K...so I all the sudden started getting all these damn pop ups...not sure if my temporary fill in jacked something up on my computer, but I cleared my cookies and history...AND my temporary internet files. I was STILL getting the pop ups...Then I installed spybot...ran it and followed the directions...it found all sortsa corrupt stuff and supposedly cleared it out. I'm STILL getting pop ups...anyone know what else I can do to stop this?

Also, with the new RM....I dont' see the whole screen...I have to scroll over...how can I make RM fit my screen? Is there some special setting?

I don't remember if Spybot has a pop up blocker or not. If using IE, the google toolbar blocks well. My issue is that both my home and Julie's work machines have spybot and adaware and one of them won't allow scripting that her excite mail account uses. I am really pissed about all of the malicious crap out there. I still contend that if anyone ever brags about hijacking the nuts are gone.

I am sure I didn't help at all, but I feel better. :D

PS - Alot of spyware writes itself to your Windows registry - deleting cookies and temp files won't kill it. Running a few good pieces of remoaval software as above usually does the trick.

Tell your substitute employees to lay off the porn on your computer.

Good luck.

It's nice to know that you are the one surfing pRon. :nope:

I have not had any problem with the page fitting with IE or Firefox.

Make sure you go get the updated reference files for Adaware too.
The auto-update doesn't do it right half the time.

The newest ref file is from 6-13-2004.

Don't delete anything with "Hijack This" unless you know what you are doing. Its purpose is to clean out bad startup items from the registry. You can run it and the post the log file here and me or someone else tell you what needs removing.....Also, Ad-Aware issues an updated reference file almost daily so update frequently......You can also download Zone Alarm Free which is a standalone firewall if you don't already have one. Its free and simple to use and works very well.(Just don't combine it with Norton if you have that)
