Have a fantastic deal on some wheels, but alas they are QR, and my forks are 20mm bolt through 88's.
Anyone know if there's a way to (safely) step the axle size up, either by replacing the QR axle with something substantial, or some other mechanism?

Nuts. Suspected as much, have done QR to solid axle, worked a treat, but figured that going up to 20mm would be pushing it.

Yeah, that's an easy one with standard cup and cone hubs, like Shimanos. There are a bunch of higher end cartridge bearing hubs that are convertible between axle standards but unfortunately nothing Shimano makes fits that bill.
