Just a couple more days for the early cows to get the best of the hay, salt lick and water trough and —the early entry fee discount that is!
Entry fees for the Cowbell Challenge Marathon Mountain Bike Race go up by $10 on Sunday, February 1st. We’re doing our part to keep prices low for the races this year, so please take advantage of the early registration price while you can.
We’re back at Fisher Farm Park in Davidson, NC for the 2009 Cowbell Challenge Race Weekend. The Marathon race will run on Saturday, June 20, with an anticipated start time of 10 am. And thanks to Kenda Tires, the Official Tire of Cowbell Challenge 2009.
“A Race Weekend” you ask? And we answer “Yep” (that’s Southern for “holy cow”). On Sunday, June 21, you can be a part of the first ever Cowbell Summer Solstice XC Race, part of the US Cup Mountain Bike Series, presented by Specialized and featuring the Kenda Cup East. There’s a category for everyone—the kids all the way up to the masters, beginners to pros. And like all of our races, we’re offering equal cash payout to top three Pro men and women.
Sign up before Sunday at Sports Base Online and get the best deal of the racing season!

Cowbell Marathon distance will be: 50<?>60 miles. Still working on the details and layout for the course, trying to get a 10 mile loop out at Fisher Farms.
remember this race has equal payout in the open class...
the race is shaping up really nice to start in Town of Davidson and goes towards Fisher Farms and once inside the park there will be a new course layout this year...
might be adding a new class or two...

Please Don't Not Be Riding Out In The Open Field Areas, Please Stay On The Mtn Bike Trails. Thank You.

Before a race entry fees go up on April 1st for the Cowbell Marathon Race, here is your reminder, save the day and notice about the fee increase. And sorry, it’s not an Aprils Fool joke either. So, save ten bucks on the Cowbell marathon.

The Marathon Race will be starting in Downtown Davidson, works its way through the neighborhood towards Fisher Farm Park. The mileage to the Fisher Farmers Park is about 6 miles and once in the park there will be a 9 mile loop for 5 laps. So, as of right now the race will be 51 miles.
New class added; Multi-team of four racers, as of now it is all we are keeping it all in one class. When there is more that 4 per gender or co-ed teams signed up, we'll separate them out. That means for the race there has to be 4 teams of all female, 4 teams of all male and 4 teams of co-ed, before we start to separate them out. I guess one lucky person on the team gets to do an extra lap
As you may know the Cowbell Marathon race offers equal payout. That's right pay the same entry fee, do the same course and train just as hard and why not pay out equally. The pay is in the Pro-Open class the breakdown of the payout is for the top 5 of $500, $250, $125, $60 and $30.

Just 3 more weeks for the Cowbell Race Weekend…
Some of you have been asking how far is the black top road section of the marathon race to Fisher Farm Park; it is 6.25 miles to the dirt trails. The course: once inside the park will be about 9.25 miles of a race loop to do 5 times for a total of about 52.5 miles. The new sections will be done in two weeks; after the trails are complete I will be able to give the right info about the mileage on the race loop. Mark Sullivan of The Cycle Path and The Town of Davidson Park and Rec have worked together to provide more land use to max out the miles for the race loop. www.thecyclepath.net , www.ci.davidson.nc.us
