Ok, so I'm building up my AM/FR bike and I got to the point where I need to find a seat.. What is the most durable seat that's under $50? As in, won't rip itself to pieces when it gets thrown into the ground (roots/dirt/few rocks). Since I'll be new into doing this kind of riding, I'm planning on bailing and crashing a lot. so i want a seat that won't be dead after my first ride.
And if the above seat doesn't exist...what's the best way to make any seat rip-proof?

you could just get a bunch of cheap seats and when you have the game figured out, invest in a good one

I've had good luck with WTB before. that's the seat that lasted longest on my XC bike...which, for me, doubles as a jumping bike....but it doesn't do so well when the uderside gets caught....that basically turned up the fabric and now it looks horrible. Haha it's even got a bent nose. I don't even know how i managed that one.

I take it then, you didn't fall a lot when you first started out? :brow: and I'm not replacing the seat, i'm getting a new one for the *New* build. I'm preparing for the worst by getting a durable product....

There is no such thing as a damage proof seat. That said, my WTB saddle has held up well so far.

This seat works well for me. Very comfortable, solid and lite. It doesn't have a super abrasive cover, so it's easy to move around on. The only hang up is it's not under $50.00 but you can find them for about $60.00 if you look hard enough.

I also like the WTB Power V. That seat will take anything you can throw at it. I have 2 of them and they have zero rips after 2 years of hard use. The are on the other hand very wide, long and heavy. If you don't want a big seat look away!
