Anybody currently riding with a matte black or similarly dark helmet? I've found the helmet I want locally for a decent price, but it's matte black and I'm worried I'll cook when I'm riding, and the big reason I want a helmet (besides that my old helmet is 6 years old) is to cool off a little, since the old one is a moto lid.

Would it be wise to spend the $25 extra on a blue helmet from performance? It'll match my shorts better.

I have a black helmet as well. Only time I notice it getting hot is sitting in the sun on the lifts, then usually I've just forgotten to take it off. :poster_oops: If you ride in the woods, you'll never notice.

a black helmet will only overheat when left without airflow for a long period of time. you can look at a helmet as a big thermal insulator, much like a coffee cup is.
