Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
So, what did you all do to celebrate the 4th of July?

We hopped in the truck, and ended up at little place called Diablo Freeride Park

After setting up camp and relaxing our first evening with Instigator and ell bee, we headed to Mountain Creek to "assess the situation" (see pics below)... :sneaky:

Are you sick of the scenery yet?

Check these out....
1 - an arial view of the first thing we see going up the lift (it's the final burm before you get back on the lift).
2 - an arial view of a big table top (about 3/4 of the way down the mountain)
3 - a pic of Squirrel catching some big air over the table top

Explore further into the diablo and you will find trails like these....

1 - Me rollin a steep rock on fun DH trail (single diamond I believe)
2 - A sweet triple bridge over a rocky section
3 - Squirrel stylin' through the triple bridge/rocky section
4 - Waterboy has some fun bridges (me again)
5 - another cool bridge on Waterboy (me again)

Oh yeah, did I mention Squirrel got a little too much air on the table top??? I didn't managed to get the crash :( but I got a sweet shot of his "diablo tatoos"

I think he was trying to out-do this guy (some random guy I got a pic of as he skied over a jump)

Looks like a blast, where's Squirrel's daisy dukes?
hehe...he wore them for you at Dalton, but sadly enough, didn't bring them along for this trip.

We had SUCH a blast!!! We definately have to get a big group together and rip this place up!!!! I swear, I could hit the burm trail all day!!!

Oh yeah, we even saw a baby bear!!! It was SO weird. Squirrel, Laura & I were changing my tire (got a flat just before the burms and had to ride down to meet Squirrel for a tube). Ralph decided to hike up the hill and hit a small table top just above where we were standing. So, we're watching up the hill for Ralph when this baby black bear comes hopping across the trail (right in front of where Ralph was about to appear). After that, we concentrated on finishing up the tire change and lookin' for mamma bear!!! I guess they aren't kidding when they tell you to look out for bears in Jersey these days!

1- about half way down the hill on the easy trail
2- second tabble top after the rollers I pictured earlier

There is no question in my mind that I will be going back there real soon.
The jackalopes need to plan a trip there for sure :thumb:

Nice pics, guys! With a little more planning on my part, I will be there next time for sure. The drop to rock tranny looks excellent, and the BMW trail... well, I guess it would help to have a BMW to ride that. :D

I had a little accident, but it looked worse than it was. a small (3/4 inch) cut on my forhead, near my eye. I found out what a rock feels like when it hits your face...or more so, when you hit it. By the way, never make a change of course in the midst of a y in the trail. :nope: I did. Instigator felt horrible and said he was selling my bike, but I won't let him. I had an awesome time! :thumb: I'd like to go back and work on getting better on the burms. I'm already getting quicker over the rocks and roots.

Matty would have drooled! over the trails here!
