Does anyone know the stock fox ifp depth in an 8.75x2.75 dhx 5? Also is it measured from the top of the resivor to the center of the ifp bolt or to the flat top of the piston?
37.5 is standard for most shocks. Some companies vary the piston depth with different shock lengths - some don't. I know that is standard for a 9.5"x3" shock, so probably 33mm or so.
1mm doesn't make THAT big of a difference. 5mm will be noticeable. On a DHX there's the adjuster anyway. If you want to change it later, just put the shock upwards in a vice, put some oil in the resy, undo the bleed screw, re-set the depth, close it off, empty the reservoir, and good to go. Takes a minute or two.
