how the hell do you people sleep at night!

My planned trip for the us open.

    Travel Plan Total
    Subtotal$270.00
    NJ State Sales Tax (7.14%)$19.28
    NJ Occupancy tax (8%)$21.60
    Village Amenity Fee (2%)$5.40
    Service Fees$40.00
    Grand TotalUSD $356.28

Tax and Fees are 31% of the bill. Whats with the service fee? I made the reservation through YOUR website! I did all of the service! I wish I had some tea to wastefully throw in a harbor. b*tches

Service fees are pretty common these days but 15% is a little on the silly side. And the "village amenity fee" is just plain crazy. Talk about "nickle and dimeing" your customers to death.

where are you staying where they charge a "village amenity fee?"

you could have called the place to save on the service fees, but occupancy tax is normal with any hotel room, anywhere in the country

I made a reservation for 2 studios in the Mtn Creek Lodge. I guess I could have called, but i made the reservation through the mtn creek website. If it was hotels.com or something I would have understood the need for a service fee but $84 in tax and fees is alot of beer money gone!

Yeah, was just a small rant. Im not unhappy with the original price at all as that price includes 4 lift tickets. I guess im just not accustom to seeing that much tax and service crap on the bill hence the ticketmaster reference. I stayed at massanutten last weekend for a night. Room rate was $65/night, paid $69 after tax, end of transaction.
