Service fees are pretty common these days but 15% is a little on the silly side. And the "village amenity fee" is just plain crazy. Talk about "nickle and dimeing" your customers to death.

you could have called the place to save on the service fees, but occupancy tax is normal with any hotel room, anywhere in the country

I made a reservation for 2 studios in the Mtn Creek Lodge. I guess I could have called, but i made the reservation through the mtn creek website. If it was hotels.com or something I would have understood the need for a service fee but $84 in tax and fees is alot of beer money gone!

Yeah, was just a small rant. Im not unhappy with the original price at all as that price includes 4 lift tickets. I guess im just not accustom to seeing that much tax and service crap on the bill hence the ticketmaster reference. I stayed at massanutten last weekend for a night. Room rate was $65/night, paid $69 after tax, end of transaction.
