This has to be too simple.

I want to take the 36 I was using on my Nomad, and put it on the front of my DJ bike.

Can I just dial it down to 100mm, pump it full of air and be done with it, or do I need to shim (shimz) it or somehow restrict/push it down?

If I remember right, Fox cautions against that, because you're liable to blow the Talas assembly up. I've never tried to see how many hucks to flat it takes to kill a lowered Talas however, so I don't really know for sure.

You can lower a Float with spacers for sure, but it's been a while since I've had a Talas apart, and I'm having a hard time visualizing how it might work exactly in there.

Sorry, that may not have been all that helpful.

I have heard that you should only ride a talas hard in the higher settings, and that the lower setting is for climbing

I recently spoke with a Fox mechanic at Sea Otter, he strongly advised that you should NOT ride a talas hard in the lower position. Climbing ok...DS, Urban, that genre...no.

hope this helps-
