I bought a slightly used but in great shape Diamond Back response just to get back into mountain biking a little bit. I was wondering what are the posibilities for upgrading this a little, and how far I could take it if I wanted to...It is a 2009- 2010 model I think.. not really too sure.

If it were anything but the basic Response, then it would say it somewhere on the bike, like Response Comp, or Response Sport. But since it doesn't have disc brakes, then it would be the basic Response.

Are there disc tabs on the frame? Fork? If no tabs on the fork, then that is what I would upgrade first, though I would keep the travel the same so the handling is not changed. Then I would get disc brakes, and new wheels if the hubs are not disc compatible.

But, before you get upgrade-itis, ride the bike a bunch, and find out what you like to ride.

Good places to get parts online are:
Bike Nashbar
Cambria Bike
Jenson USA
Performance Bike (better for clothing and road stuff)
Price Point
Universal Cycle
Bikeman

Use Google to find any of these.
