I am in the market for a direct mount stem and was browsing on here for reviews, came across this possible Truvativ offering. Anyone have any info on this or seen it up close? Any recommendations?

What you are looking at on Minaarr's rig or most any other pro's rig is most likely an example of a "beta" version or a pre-production product.

In other words - that's probably an 09' stem he is running and not available to the public - yet. Typically one gets to see all the new gear for the coming year at I-Bike, Eurobike, etc. but companies sometimes like to pop a surprise once in a while too. Pros usually get to test all the fancy new stuff before it is released to the public. My guess is that it's 09' product and might make an appearance at Otter - but who knows...

It looks finished like a production piece - but it's hard to tell for sure from the pics.

Thomson has been working on a DM stem for the Boxxer for a few years now, but they've been pretty tight-lipped about it thus far. They had a proto at I-Bike this past year, but that was kept "under the counter" so unless you knew they had it with them, you'd never know to ask.
