I'm also interested in this. I'm going to be driving down there soon and might want to ride. That one Canadian company does two week trips there, Big Mountain is the name of the company.

I recently contacted Marla Streb and she told me that they were going to make the trails in December and by Febuary there might be some open.

My parents have a house there(actually they come back tonite from CR), and there can be a lot to see. I hooked up with some local MTBers a while back and actually did a lot riding there a few years back.
The worst thing was it's a tropical country meaning it rains heavy almost daily in the mountains. In the summer the only difference is it rains later in the day, and less intense. They don't call them rain forest for nothing.
You can pretty much shuttle anywhere, and if you respect the area, no one will care much. For the most part you gotta get your riding done by mid-day most of the year before the rain comes down.
