Doing all I can to put pressure on the estate to sell the house at the price I want to buy at. I have told them the price and I am ready to walk away and I have an apartment on hand we can live if this fall through. This is both fun and nerve wrecking at the same time.

FTS Friderp. Not sure why, but the last two days the big broken bits in my body have really been hurting, like a big storm is brewing or something, though weather forecast contradicts this. Been working my way through a variety of non-prescription pain killers and sleeping worse than usual, crankier than usual, which is pretty cranky, as well.

Birthday party to attend after work.

Ah, 3 day weekends are never long enough. I managed to squeeze in as much stuff as I could. I did end up scoring some tickets to the Tool show that was in town on Saturday night. Still a great band. Did some trail work with the family yesterday. We gave a good amount of blood to our local black fly population.

Here. Legs are sore from the abreviated ride. Back and arms from housework. Cut an 8ft trench and put in a new sprinkler, laid seed/soil/fertilizer for ~8'x8' area, moved a shed, powerwashed another 10' of fence, put in some more replacement pickets, and washed all of the Little Tyke playground stuff. I've dented the To-Do list, but only marginally.
Otherwise, work.

Mornin!

Went on the first camping trip of the year over the weekend. Didn't go too too far but was still treated to snow as we camped at higher elevations. Spent the few days exploring, taking naps when I felt like it, and letting the dogs roam around and be dogs. Good times. :thumb:

at work. boss is back after three weeks away. motivation levels are close to zero. I've put the wheels in motion for moving to another job, and that's coming along decently, but nothing I'm overly excited about yet. it's sunny out now, but we're expecting thunderstorms later. At least the rain is falling during the week, and weekends are sunny...

In hell. Welcome!
Cold weather is cold, inside temperature dropped to low 60s overnight. Even if it's not raining today, 99% humidity is not making me a happy camper. Gotta survive this short week before I jump on a jet plane to spend a week away from humans in deserts and mountains of the wild south/southwest.

Work.

Seriously, what is with the rain this last week? To the east is sun and then looking to the west is just death black clouds.

I am in a two day training class. Over an hour into the first day and the instructor is still going over the focking agenda. God dammit this is going to be a long two days. :dead:

Hello.

Hills + Lengths = jello legs today.

But, was good to ride again, even in 80* weather. bike needs a tune up pronto though, guess I'll tackle that tonight.

Great Cycling challenge starts tomorrow, going for 1000kms in the month.. Doesn't sound like much, but I've ridden less than 1000kms in the last 6 years, so should be a good time!

Jesus one of my bosses is insecure. Every time I suggest we do something new, especially something that has to do with analytics (I'm an analyst...) they go into full defense mode claiming "our methods are good and up to date, there are no errors in them, it's proven by everyone etc etc". Ffs when I work harder my boss literally gets scared so I'm an analyst working without analytical tools.

Got Lil Mans ride painted, looks really good. Started t feel bad because the little brother of the neighbor kid I boult a bike for is still bikeless (grandma bought him a WalMart "mountain bike" that is HUGE and he's 8). So Monday I went on CL and found a Mongoose 18" bmx for $20, picked it up and got it home in time for dinner. I will tear it down, do a color change and base maintenance and he should be good to go next week.

It feels good to do stuff like this. It bugs me that his dad is a cunt (he has a bike at dads house, but he can't take it to moms) and I understand mom is broke. But I just feel like I care way more than his own folks. For me as a kid, a bike meant freedom. It also gave me a medium for personal expression in both how I rode it and by how I built it. While he gets plenty of exercise, it just breaks my heart to see him sitting on the porch while the other kids ride around the block.

Wife started talking about starting a non profit restoring bikes for in need kids. I found out my lbs (ghetto ass shop) is kept open by the parents of the original owner who died. It doesn't make any money, but it provides needed basic bike services and some bikes and parts. Maybe they would be down with something like that? Who knows. As i if don't have enough projects.

<edit> I admit I jumped the gun on the Mongoose, there were better candidates available but it was closest and first to respond. It does have a coaster brake, but it is a bike to ride.

Bman kept having to remind me about Lil Mans ride (that is almost out o control) "You realize he's going to be 4, right?" I have been very OCD about thepaint and finish on his bike. It is going to look incredible when it is done, though.

Lil Man commented on my pedals (Wellgo flats) and said "I want pedals like that on my next bike." Little does he know I got him some already.

Wifey shut down Haley's new bike as too expensive (which I can't challenge, but it's all dividend and gift money). I found this thing in my search for a replacement, which will be mostly covered by gift money leaving the REI dividends and and gift cards in our "spare cash" funds again.

That's a nice ride right there.

The LBS has a 16" Haro Shredder for $225, made me feel so good about my $125 Redline pimp spec. :D

Fucking weddings. Spent 3 days in Marietta GA drinking heavily and staying up late partying. My liver feels tender and my brain has no idea what time it is.

Being a person is gonna be hard today.

For some reason watching dudes eat shit in the velodrome to a horrible soundtrack made me feel better.

@rockofullr did you hit any of the suggested drinking spots?
Unfortunately I did not. Didn't have the kind of free time I was hoping for. Sleeping off hangovers and lounging by the pool takes up a lot of the day :ROTFL: and we were about 20 minutes outside of Atlanta proper. I did make it to The Viking Alchemist Meadery since it was only a mile from the hotel:

http://www.vikingalchemist.com/

I've never had mead before and I was pleasantly surprised. Very similar to wine. I feel like it might be an acquired taste, like most alcohol, but I enjoyed trying something different. Also, downtown Merietta is a pretty nice spot. They have a taproom that looked cool but it was closed on Monday when I had a chance to check out the town.

Doc said I might have a condition requiring 4-6 weeks of antibiotics. He gave me a one week prescription and a referral to a specialist. Specialist can't see me for 3 weeks. Sounds like 2 weeks of misery. Time to find my own specialist.
