Hey guys, I am looking at ordering a light DH worthy wheelset from CRC, using the following:
- Hope Pro 2 Evo Hubs
- DT 2.0/1.8mm Spokes
- Prolock Nipples
Ideally I want them to be as light at possible (around 1900g), but sturdy enough for everyday type riding (and some racing). I'm 67kg/148lbs and don't consider myself too hard on gear. I currently run a stock MTX33/Ringle combo which are bombproof (minus a couple of flatspots).
I was thinking of using either 721's or DT 600's (both around the 580-600g mark), however have been spotting at lot of EX500's (roughly 150g less for the pair) being specced on bikes lately.
So,
Are these rims capable of real DH conditions?
What sort of dent resistance do they have?
Am I going too overboard on the figures? Should I just settle for the proven rims?
Thanks,
