Hi, I recently bought a road bike to train on in the spring (i ride DH), and it came with a mix of older and newer parts, and the pedals on the bike are Shimano Dura ace pd 7700's. I've been riding/building mountain bikes for years, but I really don't know all that much about road bikes and their different standards (cleats, etc.)
Like I said, I'm not well acquainted with road bike gruppos, but I recognize that the 7700 stuff is several years old. My question is this: are new dura ace cleats compatible with the older (7700) pedals? If they are not and I have to buy the cleats that match the 7700's, will new road shoes accomodate this older design? Like I said I'm familiar w/ mtn stuff (SPD) and that's about it. I'll include a picture of the pedal in case people don't recall the 7700.
thanks!
