I just thought of something in light of Millar's admittal that he used EPO...

These guys can all afford the gadget that stucks oxygen out of the room you're sleeping in, right? (Which raises your hemocrit level, but still lets you train at sea level.) Why are they using EPO when they could (I'm guessing) use the artifical elevation to get their red blood cell count up to the level?

that's an excellent question and i personally have been trying to find the answer for a while. i've been trying to get the hookup down at the medical center to get some training time in a chamber but no luck so far. i've also had the idea buy a couple setting up a clinic specifically for the purpose of altitude training but that's about as far as i've gotten.
