A punnet of blueberries and another of raspberries cost me $16 today, I could get a large Zinger Stacker meal plus bacon for less than that, fruit is stupid.

Visited canobie lake park yesterday...kind of a hot mess. incredibly crowded and long lines for mediocre rides. Close enough to home, though.

Debated pulling the trigger on a new road helmet only to find it cheaper at another store. hmmm

Gotta poop!

Am at the girlfriend's parents cottage. Will be riding some gnar rocks later.

I am hoping that my energy level and whatnot is better than yesterday. Only managed 4 DH runs before having to call it quits.

I trust “resect” is a late night typo for “reduce”, Eric.

Nothing much on the docket for me and the family today. One kid has swim practice. Maybe going to a museum—never made it out yesterday as wife became ill with a pooping ailment

What up, muffins! I ran 90 minutes on the track this morning. A "speed workout." Logged 12.65 miles at 7:11 avg pace. Felt better as the run progressed. Sitting in a diner now for a reload.

how you feeling @Pesqueeb ? :hmm:
Pretty okay except for spectacular body ache. Definitely still a little under the weather, but feels like I'm on the upswing. All 3 of us are now officially COVID positive, but none of us are more than just "seasonal flu" sick. In fact, this morning everyone seems to be doing much better. Thanks for asking.

Oh, @canadmos , what’d they find? Opening pressure, wbc/rbc, etc? Getting mri after all?

They had to stop fighting the Sawtell Peak fire yesterday because someone was using drones to make pretty pictures grounding the scooper planes.

40 acres, 5% contained as of yesterday

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Morning. Feeling better than before but I am convinced I am positive and my rapid was just wrong. I have all the symptoms so have been isolating and hanging outside away from the kids (fairly easy to do since Syd worked all day and Alex was off with friends all day). Not much on the docket today...will try to do a little prep for the school week.

I was feeling like shit a solid 48 hours before that at home test actually said I had COVID, so it might take a bit. Hang in there and hope you feel better!

Thanks...you too! I took a test when I first started to feel bad and another 24 hours later. I should have grabbed another 2 pack at school, but I decided to go with it's a false negative and test the kids Tuesday/Wednesday for their first days. At least I can move around without having a coughing fit again and can sleep! Each day I have been feeling a little better since Thursday-Friday so hopefully this passes quickly for you too!

They didn't tell me much after, or maybe they did and I just wasn't listening..

But the neurologist called me after and said yeah, elevated pressure. During the procedure I heard them say the pressure was 36cm of h2o.

I've started on Diamox, which sucks. Carbonated drinks, beer included, taste like metal or something gross. And definitely have to urinate more than normal in the morning.

Got home late. Ruth tripped over garden hose and broke her wrist. I splinted it up and drove her to the hospital. Just out of getting x-rays. Its 0215 in the morning
Ugg, hopefully her six to eight weeks is faster than mine! Already at 5 weeks and it's going to be a lot longer...

Should get a hand cycle. I bet you could get some wicked bags for it.

Not sure how quickly you can evade moose on it though.

It would have to be modified, because they won't let me bend my leg.

coffee then rode. do not like the trail one bit but i can ride to it from the house we're at. gains 2000' in the first 4 miles but it feels like 4000'. plus it was monsooning for quite a bit of the ride. kinda cool views at the top.

me and the bike were grittier than the flyers mascot at the end tho.

How is the downhill?
Um, probably pretty damn boring unless you like buffed out bobsled runs through the forest. Two of my all time favorite shuttle runs are in either side of Lake Lure. One is the longest uninterrupted descent in WNC at 25 minutes. But it’s been a very long time since I have ridden them.

The wind last night blew out the smoke and heat leaving the trails in fantastic shape for me this AM. I really needed that.

We have this rooster that believes we are his flock. (We have two other roosters who rally the hens) this rooster though stares in the doors and windows all day. If it finds an open door it runs in and crows at us. It likes to roost under the bookshelf and spend all day inside with us. Wtf rooster! My kids love it.

@AngryMetalsmith is right. it's long but all either sidehill or switchbacks and pretty buffed out too. it kinda sucks both ways. but was a 5 minute ride from my doorstep.

Shumont is a fucking monster of a trail. It has four pushes that will make you question wtf you are doing to yourself, followed by a rock garden each time. The rocks get progressively larger after each push. The last one is a boulder field at freeway speeds. There is no picking a line, just hold on and stay up. This one starts at the top of the mountain directly on the opposite side of the lake from the tourist stuff.

On the other side is Top of the World. It takes 25 minutes going Mach Stupid on small loose rocks. Zero uphill and it dumps out behind the hotel.

Snook’s nose if off the Parkway and very illegal. Also brake pad melting steep. Might not want to hit that one until all the leaves and tourists are gone for the season.

But like I said, it’s been a very long time so my intel might not be up too date.
