All the ones I ever had, about 3 (that is since last year) were sliding off my knees. I really hate that especially when riding rocky trails.
I have heard RaceFace or some other brand in cooperation with RaceFace made a pair which really stays were its meant to be. If anyone knows another model which does not slide off too, please post it!

Well, found them. Havent ordered them yet because I am having doubts over the 2006 or the older model. The older model is about 30 bucks cheaper so thats a lot. Are the new 2006 ones really worth 110 bucks? Are they so much better than the 2005 ones?

Yup, like everybody else has said: Roach/Raceface.
They make two versions of the hardshell, DH and FR. DH has a little thicker foam, with a mesh backing.

The Roach DH will not slide if you get a big pair. The length makes them stay above your knee.

I had the Roach DH and while they stayed in place they were hot and rubbed a lot. My current Fox Launch pads are much more comfortable and don't slip at all.
