the fall 2007 GT4 challenge is now over! thanks for playing, and check back around christmas break for another challenge

the time has come for another Gran Turismo 4 Challenge. this one will largely be a spec-vehicle challenge in order to encourage competitors with less knowledge of the cars within GT4 to compete.

contests will generally be weekly, with a sunday 11:59 PM pacific time deadline. this will be a 10 race series, with the final race also extending over two weeks and ending up on thanksgiving weekend. there also will be two make-up challenges for those who may miss a race or two -- the first of these is challenge 5, see below.

ground rules: no nitrous and no spoilers allowed unless explicitly specified. driving aid settings are always at the discretion of the game player. a screenshot may be requested of any competitor but is not required unless you feel compelled to post one yourself, or unless your time is much faster than those of the rest of the field. the game to be used is the US/NTSC version of Gran Turismo 4 for playstation 2. devices such as gameshark are not allowed, and all races are to be played in the simulation mode of GT4 as practice, not track meet or in arcade mode.

ok, my best time so far is 42.059 I think I can break into the 41's though.

On a side note...hey Toshi do you have the Peugeot 909 race car? I'm having a hard time trying to tune the transmission...D

Do you ever do unlimited class races on a specific vehicle?
hmm, unlimited class? what is this? most races in the past series have been with a set vehicle, open mods besides nitrous. i'm trying to get away from that for this series for economy and because the vehicles drive more realistically with sane power and "normal" tires.

donny, i don't remember if i have the 909, but certainly have never messed around with the transmission if so.

well I had some extra money so I figured I give it a shot since it's so light...whatever you do avoid getting this car. It's a piece of crap and the the shifting is like some stock geo metro. I had to sell it and take a 3 million loss:banghead:

Yeah. You can see it's definitely a :39, but the rest looks like .761.
Here's a pic of my diary..

This should be enough proof.
Weird thing is, I've been trying to get a :38, and now I can't seem to get under :40. I was drunk as crap when I got that time. That is why the cell pic is soo blurry. I wasn't doing agricultural racing either, that makes you slower on that course. I must of just hit that magic number that makes the car rail.
