Me too. I think it depends on the kind of bike you're using it on. A short travel 29er? Gimmick. A 6-inch travel trail bike? Awesome.

I suspect you're spot on with this. Being that all I have is a 6" do-it-all I think it's awesome.

Of course I used to f**k with seat height on my old 3" FS XC bike too... so maybe we're wrong.

Edit: I just googled. Holy crap, $400 for a seatpost? Do people really need to adjust their seatposts that quickly on the fly? (not trying to be snarky...serious question)

I might not put one on a downhill, xc race, or hard tail type of bike, but on an all-mountain/trail bike... one of the best parts on my new bike.
