I was cleaning up my bike for some early spring riding and found some oil residue in the area of my rear shock. Does this leakage mean that some maintenance needs to be done? Turns out that the internal air pressure was pretty low.

My shock is a Progressive 5th element coil.

The problem is that progressive doesn't appear to be servicing bike shocks any more. I don't really have the money to pay for a new shock unless I can find something pretty cheap.

I had hoped to just replace a few seals and top off the oil but I don't know if that will be possible.

There's your problem!

Send it to Avalanche. They put new internals in 5th's.

There is not much to worry about if it is a little residue and it has been sitting all winter.

You will be amazed at the difference after coming back from Avalanche though!
