I just was riding my new sunday when the shock fell off in the street????:(
For some reason the past few days the shock has been making creaking and cracking noises and finnaly wham! Im not 100% sure its snapped cause the oil leaked all out and the shaft is separated from the cartrage meaning the upper part of the shock....

The shaft still has a pin in the middle of it which leads to me belive it can be fixed...prob just need to add oil? I tried putting it back in but It doesnt screw back in??? I think from adjusting and pounding on my bike the shock shaft was turned loose...! HELP ME PLEASE!

could you take pictures of it? sounds like your piston bolt unscrewed it self, the pin in the middle is rebound needle.

yup sounds exactky like that. mine did the same thing but i stopped riding and got it fixed before it had a chance to fall apart.

you wont be able to screw it back in from the outside. i would recommend sending it off to an expert

Looks like my Romic!

BTW, I was just riding along downhill when my romic "snapped". It was due to piston drag (out of alignment? improper glide ring? bent shaft?), but the result was the same. It wasn't due to abuse, in fact the romic never lasted more than 2 weeks at a time before blowing up.

Anyways, it's a familiar failure for me.

For the OP, there is the answer. Its fixable, if your ok at all with mechanical aptitude you can probably do this yourself, there is Many thread on how to here on Ridemonkey......Watch out, I was jsut being an asshole in some of my posts, so if it sounds like it doesnt make sense..... Listen to the others......

What bike? Romics failed like this from over heating and the loctite holding it together failing. I loved my Romic, They just didnt do so well on hi leverage bikes.
