wow...that is huge...and if they can manage to keep it below 8 pounds it is also reasonably light...although nowhere near a boxxer

But then again, it is a completly different beast..

First off their is a press release on mtbr from fox.
It states:
- 40mm stanchions
- 6-8 inch adjustable travel

Supposed to be realeased fall of 2004 (so not long now).

An 02 monster weighs in at 9.5lbs.
The 02 monster has 3 has peice aluminium lowers and its an open bath design.
This fox fork has cast mag lowers and most likely a closed damping cartridge.
So your allready saving 2lbs of oil, and probably over a 1lb in the design of the lowers. A single spring with a smaller diameter would probably save the other 1/2 lb.

The design is probably along the lines of an oversized mojo boxxer which is easier than a stock boxxer to service.

Hopefully it will fit a comp32.

I think I'm going to have to hold off on a new fork purchase until the fox DH fork and the 2005 boxxer come out.

In the pics on MTBR you'll notice it has a steel insert at the dropouts like the shermans.
