lookin into a new bike, along the lines of the sx trail, do you guys have any suggestions that are about the same as the sx trail????
A jackal is pretty far from an All around bike.Jackal with 66, fr crank and xo derrailleur. Also try getting light aluminum parts and not carbon, because when carbon brakes, you cant notice, so next time you ride it might snap.
Umm, yeah....WHAT!?i have read a lot of reviews on the transition dirtbag and most people seem to really love it, but i have also heard that the rear suspension doesnt soak up any bumps at all making it feel more like a hardtail.
Did you actually hear that from someone who rode one? I don't understand how anyone could even say that, unless of course some rookie hack tuned their rear suspension with no clue as to how to do it. You know, like if I was to do it...i have read a lot of reviews on the transition dirtbag and most people seem to really love it, but i have also heard that the rear suspension doesnt soak up any bumps at all making it feel more like a hardtail.
Personally, I'd stay away from any bike that has been discontinued...Used Sinister Splinter MX. <snip>
Okay then, I have heard the same thing about the BR but have also heard it will absolutely rip on flowy singletrack. The DirtBag will eat up gnarly singletrack like nothing, but it can be a workout to pedal up long hills. But hey, who buys a 40 pound bike to pedal uphill?
I pedal my 06 Foes Fly with a 07 66RC2X and Avy DHS in the rear uphill all the time. Its my do all bike. I do 20+ mile XC rides on it all the time.Okay then, I have heard the same thing about the BR but have also heard it will absolutely rip on flowy singletrack. alot of good bikes have been dicontinued. example A: specialized enduro (yes thats right kiddies, check your dealer books for 08)Personally, I'd stay away from any bike that has been discontinued...
My specialized was discount...it was just becoming out-dated with the new 26" versions coming in so I got it cheap....thats the only way to go when your on a budget.Personally, I'd stay away from any bike that has been discontinued...
what wheelset are you running?
