I posted this in the road forum, but I also want hear any comments from those who have used FSA carbon cranks on their XC bikes:

If I can get some money together, I would like to get a lighter crank and bottom bracket set up for my road bike. I currently have some older Cooks Brother Racing cranks. I just wanted to hear any comments you have on the FSA carbon cranks. I see them every where, and they look so pretty

I was specifically looking at these:SL-K with Mega Exo bottom bracket because they are about the most I would be willing to spend on the whole set up.

Post away!

I've used the carbon cranks before with absolutely no problems. If you want lighter and stiffer, they are the only ones to get. They're very durable too. They can take mountain bike riding, if you know what I'm trying to say...

I'm running them on my XC race hardtail, no problems. I don't do extreme drops or big hits, just XC and 24 hour races. They really shaved some rotating weight and I haven't noticed any flex issues.
