I swapped out my 100mm stem for an old XC stem I had laying around that is 110mm with a higher rise (not sure about the angles.)

Anyways, I was trying to see if that would help on rides over 60 miles or so, I tend to slump a bit and get sore shoulders...but on a little 20 mile test today my lower back of all things got a bit sore. Isn't that the exact opposite of what is supposed to happen when you bring the bars up?

Could be that the rise in the bars and the extra length in the stem have caused you to actually reach out farther??? Plus it may just have been that your back was not used to the new position.

I am no expert......but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express las night.. :D :D :D

I haven't measured yet (and like the idiot I am, I didn't measure the first stem either.)

Eyeball Version 1.0 showed that the extra length and the rise should cancel out though :D
