The 'perfect frame' probably exist afterall. Whoa, is that a number plate on your bike D? Vetpros are still slower than experts. :)

TYM, I'm sure we can work something out with the Pantera gee...

Get that yuppie Trek out of this thread. This is about Cannondale, the hard-core company that patented freeriding, yo...

They may have copywrited the name "freeride" im not sure though. But I do not think that it is possible to patent freeriding.

You're not giving C'Dale enough credit...

I think, though, that it's single-pivot freeriding that they patented, with or without a floating brake. Specialized owns the patents on 4-bar freeriding.

With lighter wheels and a breakout plus itd make a sick trail bike that could rail the DH. The bike is rediculously stable for how light and small it is and its super plush but it pedals really well also.
:stupid:

I've got mine w/ the same heavy wheels, but with the aforementioned Sherman Breakout Plus, and it's extremely versatile. Only weighs 39 lbs too.

Holy crap. I just finished building this thing. It's...spectacular. The green KICKS ASS, and the large size fits me like a glove.

Thanks to Go-Ride for getting me the E13 reducer cups so quickly.

Pics tomorrow.

Ok I have some stuff to tell you Mike D.

It pissed me off that you didn't buy my sweet black anodized V10. Next it really makes me upset that you bought the same ugly green Gemini right after I bought mine!!! But I wanted to thank you because since you didn't buy my frame ... I don't have to regret selling it every time I see you riding it.

Next

MR BMXMAN. I'm double pissed off that you bought the same ugly green Gemini. What were you thinking? Do the right thing and send it straight to ebay.

:D

make sure you guys run TONS of sag, it makes the bike trust me. Upwards of 40-45% is best. It will jump, ramp up better and should ride extremely well. This is what cannondale told me when I called as well as the rep saying due to the fact the gracia designed the bike for himself, he loves sag and that is a reason there is a need for so much.

I'm 170 with gear and I have a 250 spring...looks around 40% with little preload and feels pretty good. The damping is pretty much open except for a tad of rebound and high-speed...feels good. Lots of bottoming resistance, and 55lbs air pressure. But I don't have any recommended shock setings...does that sound like a good start?

I can't get the fork to sag as much as the bike, though, even at the min preload. I'm wondering if a lighter spring is in order...

Why dont you just switch swingarms w/ mike d's original gemini. And if something did happen you could just put the un-painted weingarm back on and be fine...

MikeD is selling his original Gemini...otherwise, that'd be a plan.

Yeah, with the elevated chainstay, it's hard to tell when it's level in the stand, so I put the guide plate on a tad cockeyed. Seemed to pedal just fine, though, with lots of chain wrap...I'll fix it if it causes any problems.

That's pretty much the ticket, I know I'll get heckled a little for saying this but I was always faster with this bike when my fork was a little undersprung. Don't ask me why, but I upped the oil heights and ran softer springs, it would get full travel all the time...sort of like the rear end, not the "right" way to do it, but it made the bike feel balanced. If you ever get the money go to a Fox DHX...much better fit for the bike...swinger under no dampning is still too harsh

Yeah, the 888 seems to ramp up really fast, too. I like it, but it'll need some tuning to get right. I'll try your recommendations; that's the way I was looking to do it. Might not even need to up the oil height, 'cuz I'm a lot lighter than you.

If I ever get the money, I'd like to try a Fox. I actually considered--for the future--an avalanche, which I could get in a 9.25"x3. That'd lower the bike a little, and if I went to the 7" 888, would probably keep around the same headangle...

Yeah, that's pretty close to the right shade of green, but it's not quite deep enough. Still a little light and yellow-y.
