As many of you know a fellow friend, team mate, and student recently passed away after suffering head trauma at his home. Our thoughts go out to all of his family and friends. Getting this all together took a lot longer then we had hoped but things are ready to go.

We are putting together a ceremonial ride across the WWU campus to honor Gideon. This will be in conjunction with a memorial being sponsored by the University with participation from Gideon's family, Dining Services (his long-time employer), the Engineering Technology department (his major), and Campus Recreation (his passion).
The ride will depart from Viking Union to arrive at the Rainforest fountain newly placed at the Campus Recreation Center at 7 pm. We will be provided with white carnations to leave at a special site outside (other items welcome) and lead our bikes into the MAC. We will mingle and join other friends and family for a ceremony inside the MAC at 7:30 to include speakers and a slide show.
There will be an opportunity during the evening for friends to share their feelings for Gideon in whatever medium suits them, so gather your thoughts, artwork, lyrics, photography now.
Feel free to contact Matt with your ideas, questions, or concerns. I am more than happy to provide directions to non-students and community members who wish to attend.
