Hey Huck B, have you ever ridden gloveless for long enough to get used to it and your hands get tough and caloused enough to work? Or are you just theorizing?
That gloves provide more grip and protection is not a theory.

I have. I used to trail build sans gloves. My issues sans gloves are more on the protection front. I've spent weeks before with completely grazed palms. not fun
