Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Good morning! I just had a GREAT jazz band rehearsal. My kids are really enjoying the tunes I selected and are working hard this year

This weekend was GREAT! I got to spend a lot or relaxing time with Sydney and Sq-Earl. Our regular Friday night ride got rained out so we decided to celebrate with a few cocktails at home. Sunday my mom came over to babysit and we hit the roads for a nice hour and a half ride. Not sure of how many miles, but I think about 20 with some excellent climbs...we even climbed one hill twice (and I am still not sure what possessed me to do it either time).

Sunday we got up and had a nice family breakfast and then headed out to buy a buffet/hutch for our dining room and did a little shopping for supplies to work on the bar, including some more booze & wine to fill the shelves. We came home and I worked out while the baby played and Sq-Earl worked on our bar.

Tonight I am teaching lessons and hoping to get some time to work out in too.

Sup yall. Had an awesome weekend even though I did no riding :(

Had a gig Saturday afternoon that rocked, then Saturday night I filled in on keys and vocals for another band, holy crap the bar was packed and everyone was trashed, that was the most fun I've had in a long damn time!
You guys gigging a lot? We'd love to get out and see you again soon....anything planned around the holidays?

Sweet! I just bookmarked it! We're going to have to try to plan a trip out to hear you guys again soon!!! I know we're going to be out that way from Dec.26th - (probably) NYE. But maybe we can work something in prior to then.
We're trying to land a gig during that week, the ghostrider family will be here as well as my sister and her hubby (and new baby!). I'll keep ya updated, if nothing else we will throw a party and just jam a quick set.

Yo. I'm tired and grouchy today. Couldn't sleep last night...effing sucked.

Had a good day building trail yesterday. We had built this teeter last week, but the run out was a huge g-out so I fixed that up. The first support in this pic used to be about 8" lower, and the second support was about a foot higher. This smoothed things out just nice-like.

I then built a wee jump. Lightning and heavy snowfall are to thank for the sweet lumber that I used. The decking tree had a nice crack about 1.5-3" deep running along the entire usable length - made for easy splitting. Place axe, whack axe 3-4 times with 2.5lb mallet and voila! No tranny built yet as I was running out of daylight and the ground drops away a fair bit just after it. I'll just wait and see where people are landing and build a tranny from there.

I wouldn't know!! I don't bring the bike when working on stuff so I haven't ridden any of the new stuff. Plus, my wrist is all effed up so driving my bike hurts quite a bit. At least its not my hammer/saw/axe driving hand...

Afternoon. Spent Sat. morning doing some trail maintenance. We started building a 40' long, 3' high bridge over a low, swampy area. It's gonna be sweet!! Also re-routed the trail that goes up to it to higher ground in general. Sat. night the wife and I went to a Halloween party and I drank too much tequila. I don't remember much after 10pm but I've been told I had a good time. Yesterday the whole fam went to my bro-in-law's house for lunch and general R&R. It was nice to relax. That's about it. Might get a night ride in this Wed. if the weather is decent....

mmmmmorning. Had a killer weekend. Short night ride, long beer session on Friday. Saturday did a quick Marin mtb ride, then headed to Sonoma county for a night of BBQ and camping at a private spot in the far corner of a vineyard on the Russian River a bit outside of Healdsburg. We ate and drank like vikings, swam in the river, and slept under the stars. Woke up to a big plate of eggs and grilled bacon. Swam some more, drove over to Ridge winery and bought 6 bottles of killer Zin. Then we got on our road bikes and did 60 miles of rolling hills in the wine country. Gorgeous hot day, fall colors happening, stopped at a few more wineries, etc. We pedaled away our sin then jumped in the river again as the sun was going down.

I had a small ferret eat half of a powerbar one time.
Another time he ate a hershey kiss wrapper and all.
The poop was quite decorative.
He ate some old John Denver records with the donuts as a side dish.

A few weeks ago he ate a pin cushin.

Don't feel too bad. My dog ate a Bic pen whole. I found it in the backyard in a pile of poop, no worse for wear (other than the fact that it was covered in poop). How the hell it didn't get stuck in there I'll never know.

That was when we first got her. She ate all kinds of strange stuff. Once she ate 1 lb bag of walnuts. That made for some interesting dookie. She's settled down now and doesn't eat things she isn't supposed to anymore. My theory is that since she was in the pound so long, she just didn't have a lot of experience in what's food and what's not and she sort of sampled her way through the house.

 Then again just this Saturday she was eating yellow jackets. So who knows...

Yeah, our dog is all about eating flies or moths or other flying bugs.

FAWK, I just found a tick crawling up my arm.
Thats the 4th tick I've found on me in 1 week.
I think 1/2 have been deer ticks.
