How is everybody today?

I think this has been the longest week I can remember and I'm not sure why.
I can't believe it's only Thursday.
Well we slept in our new place last night for the first time. I slept like a rock so I guess thats a good sign.

Hope ya all have a great day!

Mornin Stosh.

Congrats on the first night sleep! Must be a good feeling.

Yesterday was awesome! We were (are  ) in a state of emergency, so the office was all but empty. I had a great morning and as actually able to get some good stuff done. Then I bugged out for the afternoon and got in about 26 miles on the road bike. That ride put me over 200 miles for the month. Next "milestone" is 1000 for the year - should hit that in about 2 weeks.

Got home last night to no power or running water. I'm still trying to find a shower...

Cool, stosh! I remember the first night we slept in our house. We were still working on it and were not moved in yet, so we slept on an air mattress. Good times. :)

Good Morning!

Fixed a friends computer last night. Please everyone, do yourself a favor, take the side of the case off and blow it out with compressed air. The inside of his computer was practically filled with dust.

New clubs come Monday. OOO, the excitement. That and I think I get to golf on both Saturday and on Monday. :)

Yeah well we moved a lot of our stuff in in one day. Gladly it's only 1mile down the road and I had 3 other guys helping me. Aubrey and her mom moved a lot of stuff before I even got home. Her and her mom moved the pull out couch. That made me laugh!

Did a couple hours of hill repeats and sprints with a group of people last night. A lot more fun than it sounds, really shows you what the weak and strong points are in your power delivery.

Yeah, I've noticed that with a few friends' PCs that I've worked on. Good for noise suppression though. Eventually.

This board seems to be getting more "road" oriented.

Morning Stosh

I'm down in lovely Islandia NY at corporate HQ. came down yesterday morning , drove to bridgeport then took the ferry across the sound.

anyway I discovered there isa trail right next to my hotel, so this morning I got up early ( 15 minutes eariler than planed due to a fire alarm going off ) got dressed , got on my bike , and had a good 1:45 ride here.

Nothing too spectatular , fun easy trails. gave me a good work out. almost killed my self on a sandy down hill. I'm used to rocks, Not sand!

going home tonight , was suppose to ride with IAB and MBC but it looks like the weather is not going to co-operate.

Isn't Sand hard to ride in?

I rode this totally flat switch back type trail thru some pine barrons in Southern NJ last year, it was a tough work out.

Oh man apparently they had some serious flooding in the northern section of Sulivan county. Anyway this one guys house was washed away with his daughter inside. He spoke very well about what happened to his daughter, then .... he goes .... "and I lost all my guns" and at that point he broke down and started crying. His son, was very upset that the fire dept didn't listen to him to go down stream to seach for their cat.
Freaking Sulivan county!!!

Morning all!!! Decent night last night. My pedals finally came in for my roadie, so I've got them sitting here next to me in the office with my shoes, waiting to have the cleats put on. :D Stosh, I think it's all the rain combined with the TdF starting up in a couple days that has people fired up about skinny tires. Anywho....it has hot and humid as hell when I got home alst night so we headed over to my parents for a dip in the pool. In reality, the wife and kids got to swim and I ended up doing all kinds of chores about the property for my dad who isn't doing so well. Hoping to get out for a ride tonight if the weather cooporates. Tonight is hill workout night though, so I wouldn't be heartbroken if it does rain. :p

Have a good day all!! :)

I go through an ISIS BB every six months or so, that seems to be about the average life if you're really honkin' on the cranks in the mud and grit whilst crushing the uber small bearings they use to maximize the spline size. I feel really lucky when I make it to a year...It seems to me that Truvativ BB's are more susceptible to this than Raceface. There is some German company (forget the name) that does the ISIS BB with a 10 year guarantee? They're wicked expensive, though.

Anyway, morning all. The sun came out and did a quick ride in the Pine Bush yesterday. It wasn't too soggy, but I discovered while riding that I had somehow gotten a good amount of lube on my back disc! No brakes! Luckily it's only the Pine Bush: rather flat and sandy. Put a Minion DHR DH tire on the back of my SS due to my sloppy riding and pinchflats - holy crap I felt like I was dragging! Anyway, new pads and disc in the dishwasher should fix my stupidity.

In other broken brake news, I came home to find that my wife had taken her front wheel off and inadvertently squeezed the lever... Mucho piston pushing and reseting last night post my brake clean up debacle!

Slayer tonight. Maybe a ride tomorrow. Jiminy Peak Saturday. Jiminy Peak Sunday. Relative invasion Monday. Ride/relatives Tuesday? Hopefully no more floods.

I've been riding a lot more road this year, but not by choice. The trails that I always rode during the week got shut down, private land. I don't have the time after work to drive anywhere to ride. The option is to hit the road or not ride at all. But in a way I think it is a natural progression to reach out into other areas of cycling.

Agreed, however if you think back to the past on RM, if you owned a road bike you were a loser. Now thats not the case, not that it's a bad thing.
I would rather go for a ride in a NYC cab then ride my bike on the road around here. We have no shoulders and the red necks driving drunk in their big un-insured un-inspected trucks will run you off the road in no time.
