It does look like a performer, I would suggest going over to www.vintagebmx.com those guys are ga- ga over old GT's and will be able to verify the "vintage" LOL
That's a 85" GT Performer .... the 86 models had more of a flatter platform , and the 87 on up had the S down tubes !

wow, i've got a 90's performer and its solid. The frame hasn't change hardly at all to the modly I have. The only difference is that the downtube on mine is straight instead of kinked, and the rims(still plastic) have a different spoke design. Cool stuff.
