Guarnier, Miller, Hall place in Top 10 in Stage 2 Time Trial

<p>In Stage 2 of the Cascade Classic, three Team TIBCO riders placed in the top ten as they raced against the clock in the 16-mile Crooked River Time Trial today, led by Megan Guarnier’s fourth place. The U.S. National Road Champion and general classification contender recorded a time of 36 minutes 35 seconds.</p><p>

Amanda Miller took seventh, while Lauren Hall came in ninth. Coming off today’s time trial, Lindsay Myers also moved up into second place overall for the Best Young Rider competition.</p><p>

“Megan and Amanda put in their best time trial of the year today,” said Team TIBCO European directeur sportif Angela van Smoorenburg. “Not only has the Team illustrated incredible teamwork and tactics, individually the riders are consistently putting up top finishes.&rdq uo;</p><p>

Apart from their athleticism and experience, the Team has the advantage of riding on some of the best equipment available to deliver results. The ladies rely on the unmatched aerodynamics of their Specialized Shiv time trial bikes and Reynolds wheels to take them to the line.</p><p>

Now at the midpoint of the six-day Cascade Classic, the race continues with the 70-mile Cascade Lakes Road Race scheduled tomorrow. The mostly flat and rolling route will finish with a decisive 20-mile climb that reaches over 6200 feet. With three stages remaining, the general classification battle is still up for grabs. Guarnier is currently positioned in fourth place for the overall.</p><p>

“We are fully motivated for tomorrow’s stage,” said van Smoorenburg. “We have several riders who can do well in the stage, whether they go for the stage win or achieve a result that brings them into the top three for the general classification standings.&rd quo;</p><p>

“The race is yet to be decided,” van Smoorenburg said.</p><p>

After tomorrow’s road race, the riders will take on the Downtown Bend Twilight Criterium Saturday before heading to Awbrey Butte for the Stage 5 circuit race finale.</p>
