Gameplay is similar which is good, graphics are amazing, and the story line is badass too, continuation of the first. Yeah, I'd say go buy it.RideND said:

WOOOOO HOOOO, took a trip down to my local 24hour supermarket at 1am and grabbed me the first copy of halo2, me and my buddy are away to pull an all-nighter and see how far we get.

Beat it this afternoon, about 2 or so. Looong night the night before, but it was fun. Just "Normal" level though, and it did seem a bit harder than the first. I've beaten every level on Halo 1 except for The Library and Truth and Reconciliation on Legendary by myself. I can't imagine what it would be like in Halo 2 without doing Co-op.
Can't waaaaiitt to get going on X-Box Live though, pretty soon, waiting for my buddies to get set up...

Yeah you can really fuhk someone up with the big knife gun... er, grenade launcher. Covie sniper rifle is nice but I like the human one better, the jackals are deadly with those bastards. Drones... is that what those are called? They look like elites kind of. Yeah, they are tough, I prefer to take them down from a distance with a battle rifle or a covie carbine. Really though they are a walk in the park compared to a brute. We are I think on level 12 on legendary co-op. We went through the first half pretty fast but the godamn brutes make it so frikkin hard to get past just a single checkpoint... I think the next few levels might take the better part of this weekend. Also whats making it so damn difficult is the no respawning in co-op on legendary... if 1 of you dies, you both have to start overJust James said:
I really enjoy the fact that the "punch" (i.e. hitting things with your gun) is actually an effective combat technique in Halo, unlike most games where your punch is almost useless and running out of ammo means certain death.
The grenade launcher knife is great... You can actually kill the brutes with it when they rush you.

The little green flying guys with plasma pistols are drones. The big gorillas with grenade launchers are brutes. I believe the manual has the full list.

Just got back from a system link session, all sword games are fun as hell. Anyoen got favortie new maps? I'd have to go with Ivory tower, although it needs more weapons lying around. Colossus is pretty sweet too.
I haven't played the maps with enough people yet, but I have to say that coagulation is nice - I know it's just basically Blood Gulch 2 but it's still fun as hell. All heavy weapon games give you some very strange weapons, I can't get the hang of the brute shot at all yet!
I'm pissed that they took the fuel rod out of multiplayer, and nerfed the banshee...

Got it yesterday afternoon. It's sooooo much fun. Only had about 3-4 hours of playing time on it but I've managed to get pretty far into the battlefield on earth in Heroic with my 11yo brother. Gonna play it as soon as I get home today.
Yeah, it sucked... I was getting all pumped to kick some azz on earth and then blammo... roll credits... wait till you see what happens when you beat it on legendary (NOTE: make sure you watch the credits till the end). Finally did it last night on co-op, it took much team work, tons more planning and strategy before you enter each area, 100 times more than Halo 1. Legendary aint no cake walk this time around. I dont know if I will be able to do it alone, not enough firepower. So many times we would have to run around and find the perfect weapons just to have a chance at a section. Usually it would require 1 person to stay behind with a sniper/ranged rifle combo while the other person went in with dual needlers and a swordsteve45 said:****minor spoiler****

I agree the end is so frustrating, waited ages for them to get halo2 on the market, got the game on friday and finally finished tonight on normal, but left me wanting more
You know the deals goin to be another 2-3 years for halo 3 to hit the streets and with everyone drooling to get a copy it will probably be the fastest, biggest and most antisapated game ever.....

It's coming, if you're on XBox live, there is an option on the first screen, so I'd expect more maps, maybe weapons, and hell, why not an add-on campaign?

I am totally lost on the story, so that's the best I can describe the scene.
What level is this, and how far am I? I'm thinking halfway...but again, I'm totally lost as to what the hell is going on in the game..

I spent Saturday night whoopin up on my buddies. They are hanging their heads in shame today. Great game. All the Halo goodness but better all around. PvP Vehicle combat is much improved.
