I was gonna say..Miche won't be so happy about this.

What are they trying to hide from us now and does it really matter anymore, not too many major teams riding on them on the World Cup anymore, I think they need to re-vamp their line of DH tires, nothing new from them in quite some time.

I havent been able to seal the valve stem from the tubular. I've tried stacking O rings and cuttting my own wedge block, anyone care to fill me in?
Are you reffering to a tubular DH tire? As in glued road tires...that would have the potential to save a lot of weight in both tire and rim, not to mention being easier to handle in the case of a blow-out...

Obviously I am no help with this thread...just curious

Its sad really... I cant decide which is worse, asking for help or just asking for help here.
What's sad is you bitching in a public forum that you can't get any help from members with a product that they aren't supposed to know anything about.

Tell us in great detail about le system and we will help you fix it....

Michy team guy- " what's all that white stuff coming from between that silicone glue and the rim?"

Racer guy -" it"s stans mixed with bontrager speed juice, looks like it got past the glue, i heard that some people glue their tires onto the rim and others use sealant, so.."

really though,good luck.

A few people on the board can tell you in great deal about le systeme, but it wouldn't be anything mind blowing, trust me.

Also, the original poster's problem doesn't really have anything to do with le systeme as such, he just can't figure out how to seal a valve core. The comical part is, if he had just asked how to seal a valve, people wouldn't have ragged on him.

Naw not at all, it's a pretty simple system, it just isn't somethnig that michelin is dying to tell everyone about. Funny part is, everyone who matters (ie: their competition) already knows.

Most people who do know about it, are hooked up in some way with Michelin. Divulging what they consider state secrets would get you expelled from the club pretty quick.

It's heavy, you can still flat and it's a pain to work on which is one reason you don't see a ton of people using it. That, and michelin is pretty selective about who they give it to.

My understanding is that it's a system that allows you to seal a flat pretty readily in order to finish a run. Is that at all right?

if I'm not wrong, it's how Nico showed up a the finish line of Worlds still hitting a sick time even though he had a "flat". People tried to call BS on him b/c his tire still had some air. If I'm not wrong "le system" was what kept it from fully flatting.

edit: this was the year he didn't win

Exactly. it doesnt keep you from flatting so much as it keeps your wheel rideable, even when flat.

I've seen nico double flat it, and ride it as if nothing was wrong.

Maybe I'm mistaken but isn't it basically a sew up road tire (a larger size) that is sealed inside of the DH tire? So when the DH tire suffers a puncture the road tire keeps the tire rideable? This would also explain why its heavy. I remember cutting the bead off a slick tire and running it inside my DH tire, you will never flat but boy is it heavy:)

Hey, screw you! I was given those wheels by Giant's mechanic! Extra points for them being Myles Rockwell's old wheels. And they were from his '01 season too, not mid-90s.
Dumpster diver my ass!
Stupid Canadian. Oh...wait, damn...

No, no, no. It was at Big Bear. Then they were dropped down a flight of stairs by a very intoxicated employee of a certain cycling company whose name has both a letter and numbers in it.
Then we all tried to jump-start an earthmover.
Good times all around...

I was just going to say, didn't Tobler chuck those things down the stairs or something? LMAO. Not that we all haven't done stupid things when drinking - I got all bombed at my 4th of July party a few years ago and threw all my silverware into the bonfire. Sweet.

Yes, alive and well!

I've been riding more than ever. Did 10 days at Whistler in July, been to Attitash a few times this summer, and do trail rides 3 times per week. Picked up a Cove Shocker while in BC and am loving it.

Sorry I've been incommunicado so much lately - been working on the new biz. Check out the website - www.guy-trips.com. Fraser (web designer) and my artist Will Bedard outdid themselves.

Yeah, he did, he was toasted. I think my response was to shout "who brought the cool guy?" really loudly. He did look like a sad panda after he did it though. Or after he got caught. Good stuff. Welcome back!

Fraser, stupid was making a shot of vodka with a healthy serving of bacon bits in it, then suddenly thinking that everyone would be pissed at me for wasting the alcohol (high school thinking), then doing the shot. This after we ran out of beer and Firth came back from 7-11 with a 40 in a paper bag for me. Yeah, I finished it. That was a good-ass time. That's why I miss Big Bear.
And my company paying for a bomb-ass condo 50ft from the resort.

Nice site. Are you sure you picked up a cove shocker in BC? Looks like someone else picked up a shocker on that trip.

We'll be out east for at least Diabloween. If you make it, there'll be a few beers for you.
