crashing at a trail near you...
just got a phone call from my manager. one of our vendors is WAYYYYYYY behind schedule and they are starting to ask for our help, i.e. technical support. they are looking for an EE w/5 years experience to assist in the developmental testing. my background is mechanical but had some experience in the navy as a nuke electrician.
i'd be in san diego for upwards of 9 months to a year. i'm psyched by the opportunity but i'm not sure if i have the techincal hutzh pah that they want...
hero or zero...i just don't know.

A hero ain't nothin' but a sandwich

That's a crappy title to some book I found on the street like 15 years ago; memory is a funny thing.

Anyway, I say go for it. You could regret passing up opportunities like this. I felt the same way when I was asked to run our LA office. I went out there for two years, did a great job and then came back East when my tenure out there was done. No regrets.

If your manager thinks you can handle the job, and this vendor wants you to do it, then you probably can handle it and are the type of person they're looking for.

No regrets? Screw you, what about not riding up in Monterey on long weekends, or eating $300 worth of sushi for $75?
Jerk.
