What do you use for a sleeping pad? I've looked at dozens and just don't know which is good. Are the self inflating kind any good?
Thanks
Thanks
Car Camping - I built a bed in my element but it's just a little to firm so I'm thinking a nice 2 - 3 in sleeping pad will make it perfect.Yup - self inflating works well. Are you looking for backpacking type pad (lightweight) or a car-camping type pad?
a little to thin - looking for 2 - 3inches thickif size isn't an issue, I've got a few of these

Do NOT get foam if you're looking for comfort. Foam will take the edge off... but that's about it.a little to thin - looking for 2 - 3inches thick
I usually give my wife the thick, long, one when car camping. She loves it.
Nobody asked for your opinionIf you had kept the Hummer you wouldn't need camping pads.
Can someone give loco some rep for me?If you had kept the Hummer you wouldn't need camping pads.
you had an H3?Hummer H3 Cargo Space 62.8 cubic feet
Honda Element Cargo Space 74.6 cubic feet
that was a nice setup you had a Mass.... but a Snowshoe is gets COLD at night and you have to worry about waking up to a bear licking you ballsENO...no pad required

Agreed. Foam is not that great. For car camping, I have two self-inflating pads. Both are fairly cheap, old and not a major brand as far as I know. They work fine; not much difference between them. I sometimes put a foam pad (Z-rest) under it for extra cushion. For backpacking, I use a 3/4 length thermarest. It is really light and small, but not something I'd use if other options are available.foam won't do you much good, I would go with a self inflating, thermarest are good but most off brands are decent enough since you don't have to worry about weight
You're a good husband. Pos rep for you!I usually give my wife the thick, long, one when car camping. She loves it.
