Have titanium bolts gotten cheap. I just wanted two pieces of jewelry for my roadie, (m4x30mm), and they were $3.50 for a pack of TEN.
you may now return to covid talk.
and no, I don’t know why I posted this in the lounge.

My usual source if not ebay:

When I built my R1 I swapped every nut and bolt I could with titanium. Between that and a full ti drivetrain, I shaved off quite a bit. It was kind of a fun process.

when you are built like a tank Ti and Carbon Fiber parts are a no no. I exceed mots of the weight ratings for that stuff
What is this "carbon fiber" and "titanium" which you speak of?

My aluminum bars get replaced every year when regularly riding because I've seen a head-on shot of me riding on a carbon bar :panic:; it looks bendy. And I've cracked both of my carbon mtb frames within 6 hours of assembly (first ride and first ride after rebuild).

I've gone back to aluminum, thank you. I'll take the weight and be happy. Some things aren't made for wookie.
