contractor came this morning to quote for concrete and electrical. getting a little extra done with it (walkway to tub, some privacy fencing below our deck, gravel around the area & deck steps). going to look nicer than expected, which is good because it's gonna be a year or two before we finish the full patio area. sounds like we might get it in before the end of the year too
also, something that's gonna be funny - our next door neighbor (who i suspect is kind of a hoarder) has had a hot tub in his garage the entire time we've lived here (~5 1/2 yrs). dunno what the story is but its just got boxes of who knows what piled on top of it. gonna be interesting to see his reaction when ours is put in and functional

i've been contemplating pointing a security camera at it for exactly this reason
also, the cover latches shot, and i believe it locks as well.
Wife's Pinterest ideas just cost us an extra $1400
It's a privacy screen and a bunch of sod removal, so I no longer have to mow that grass
