All you early rising people: What time do you go to bed? Or, how many hours of sleep do you usually get/are functional on?

Just curious because there's no way I am getting up at 4:30 am. It's just not going to happen. Try as I might, I am just not a morning person. :)

Depends on the morning. In the summer, if I don't ride in the morning, I'm up between 10:10-10:15 (if I have to shower or not), on my bike by 10:20, and sprint down the hill to work at 10:30. When I ride, I usually wake up between 7:30 and 8 and it takes me longer to get ready.

During school it depends on the classes...aiming to shift stuff around.

The earliest I have work is 10:30, and the earliest I have class is 2:00 PM. I usually get up at 8:00 AM. For me mornings are just time to read and get crap done, but there's no real set time. However, if I need to I can get gone in less than 15 minutes.

Mon/Wed/Fri:

Wake up as I please, generally 10-11ish
Pee, shower, dressed within 20-25min.

Tues/Thurs:

5:45am: alarm goes off
5:46am: pee
5:47 am: put on tights, still glad I sprung for fleece lined
5:55am: on bike, wondering why I do this to myself
7:30ish: return, shower, change, breakfast, homework, etc. leave for class no later than 9am.

As far as hours of sleep, morning practice for water polo trained me to be perfectly functional on 5 hours of sleep, with even less on weekends. It just takes some getting used to...

My typical morning:

7:30 am: alarm
7:31 take a piss
7:32 Let dog out and feed/water her
7:35 Start coffee and oatmeal
7:40 rouse the wife
7:55 eat cold oatmeal / drink cold coffee because it took 15 minutes to rouse wife.
8:05 brush teeth, dress, shave if required.
8:15 play fetch with dog
8:45 hop on bike and ride to work
9:00 arrive at work.

Total elapsed time 1:30.
Hmm, simliar to mine 'cept;

06:30 baby cries out in alarm and lapses back into sleep having woken me
06:31 take a piss
06:32 crawl back into bedLet dog out and feed/water her
06:35 attempt to arouse the wife without rousing the baby
06:55 accept that continuing to try to arouse the wife will result in loss of teeth/bed-space/any remaining respect
07:00 nine-year old gets up and wakes baby by clumping down stairs as if she weighed 16 stone rather than 6 stone
07:05 get up and fish baby from cot whilst wife goes for baby-milk & coffee (she gets to choose and always chooses the drinks)
07:15 following caffiene injection attempt to change & dress struggling baby
07:30 shower, brush teeth, dress, shave if can no longer see face.
07:45 play hold the baby with wife whilst nagging nine-year old to pull her socks up
08:15 hop on motorbike and run away to work/logon from home (preferred option)
08:40 arrive at work.

Total elapsed time: 2:10

I used to enjoy mornings a lot more....

5 min later : asking rosita for salad, steak and orange juice.
40 min later : caught watching spongbob or the fairlyoddparents. gym is gonna have to wait.
1 hour later : going to the door with the intention of actually walking to the gym.
2 minutes later: going upstairs for my wallet, a towel.
5 minutes later : stretching in bed.
20 minutes later : actually leaving the house for the gym.

Around 9 PM. Earlier when the days get real short. Absent clocks, I think I'd pretty much follow the schedule of the sun.

Good thing you're not in Barrow Alaska, the sun schedule would be pretty interesting...
