here's another story of someone getting shafted due to our jail industry:
Woman's body found stuffed in man's closet

WEST PALM BEACH A 26-year-old Palm Beach Gardens man was taken into custody after his father reportedly found a woman's body stuffed in his closet.

Shenfeld allegedly told his father that Buckley had overdosed on drugs. He said he panicked and put her in the closet until he could figure out what to do. However, investigators said they found duct tape in Buckley's hair, bruises on her body and evidence of rape, according to the report. An autopsy revealed the girl was strangled, beaten and sexually abused.

Shenfeld was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, sexual battery and false imprisonment.

Shenfeld was released from jail in February after being arrested and accused of sexually assaulting two other women. Charges in that case were eventually dropped because of "conflicts in evidence," according to court records.

unfortunately, it wasn't the criminal who got the shaft.

Police in Connecticut have charged the two suspects in the home invasion/triple homicide case.

The suspects, 26-year-old Joshua Komisarjevsky of Cheshire and 44-year-old Steve Hayes of Winsted, police say are career criminals.

The two were formally charged with assault, first degree aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, burglary, robbery and arson. for the murder of the wife and two young daughters of a prominent doctor on Monday morning.

but the money quote has got to be this:

A bail commissioner said Hayes and Komisarjevky each have records that include over 20 prior burglaries, and both had been out of prison on parole.

so we have a healer, who has forced to watch the rest of his family sexually assaulted, then murdered. what would "giving the shaft" to these perps entail? please tell me.

point of the above post is this: while i agree our judicial system has fallen into disrepair, it does not seek out blacks & hispanics disproportionately, while their numbers suggest a casual relationship. incarceration rates do seem to follow a class-trend, i think we can agree.

I also just caught this one this morning via other news souces... truly heart-rending. The wife and two daughters likely burned to death in the fire. What I couldn't figure out was why there was no murder charges listed.

The two men were caught on the scene, and the father survived to bear witness. If these two ****ers don't get maximum sentences (death penalty in CT?) I don't know what does.
