Simple...

Custom Vanilla set-up similar to my Surly LHT.
There are a ton of people racing cross on Vanillas up here (I guess it helps that he is based an hour from my place).....they are nice bikes, spendy, but nice. You could put your deposit down and have one in five years :)

Your question didn't put restrictions on money or production time.

Hence why I have an LHT.

I know, this is supposed to be the dream bike thread....I will now shut up
About damn time!
:)

I think if I could have *any* road bike, it might be a custom-built titanium rig. With an integrated seatpost, because I think that looks badass, semi-compact frame design, and probably Dura Ace or Red. I know the DA stuff really well, so that might be a reason to stick with it. Not a huge fan of the Record hoods, I know, I know, but there it is.

I agonized long and hard whether to get the Extreme Power or the C50, and in the end I decided that I should start with the C50, the "classic" Colnago (in carbon anyway). We'll see about next year, I might step up to the Extreme Power.
Or maybe the CX1...

An Extreme Power with the new Dura Ace stuff, some Lightweight wheels, and a nice finishing kit would be very high on the "me want" list though.

wow!! so many choices.... so little cash....

here goes:

Carbon: Parlee, hands down. Crumpton is next in line as a backup

Ti: Seven or Moots. Lynsky is the backup

Steel: now were talking. I wouldn't want to wait 5+ years for a frame, as much as Vanilla's are beautiful, too long of a wait, same goes for Sachs. I really liked the Waterford that i saw at the NAHBS this year, WOW!! i'd also to for Wojcik, Strong, Zanconatto(but he's going on hiatus for a bit.. damnit).
one i'd really like to get is a Casati Laser K. nice fillet brazed, hidden seatpost binder, real pretty.

all would be built with either DA or Red, with Mavic wheelset. i like Mavic so there, plus i'm a fat ass and i dare not try carbon.

so if anyone has a spare 5-7k they want to lend me, better yet give me, i'd be forever gratefull. and i'd give back the difference!!

Watchin' you. Writing it all down.

It would probably start with this, a dura ace build and some fancy carbon wheels but I would keep my current dura ace wheels just in case.

Or if the geo was right maybe a replica of Boonen's Roubaix bike.

The reality is that I just haven't riden that many different road bikes to know what I like but I know I love my Roubaix.

2 Pages and no mention of the Serotta Meivici? or Serotta at all, WOW.

Why would anyones dream bike start with a stock frame?

Made to Measure FTW.

With that said I signed off on the draft of my Indy Fab XS last week 5 more long weeks.

So for me its...

Indy Fab XS, White painted Lugs, white Ouzo Pro w/ Blue/White Decals
Campy Record
DT Swiss 1450's - White, for now Zipp 404's next season
SLR Flow- White

I do think it's pretty cool to see so much love for steel. I didn't think that would be the case...

This would be my other choice (axiom steel):

I have no idea what my dream bike is. I'm pretty fortunate to ride some pretty nice stuff that leaves little to be desired.

I like my Tarmac Pro; the SL2 is pretty lustworthy. Maybe with Red and Reynolds DV 46UL(1200g w/ 46mm rim).

I do also like the new Madone and some of the innovative(kinda) things they've done with it.
