Looks pretty. I didn't see a whole lot there besides "pretty" but fit and finish updates can be nice too.
I mean, okay, so multitasking now has screen shots of the app state, and there's a quick-access settings menu... a lot of the other updates are polish to the UI rather than functional. It's my understanding that multitasking will allow background apps a little more leeway, which is nice.
It's certainly a very attractive update, there just seems to be little below the surface.
at this point i find myself wondering if apple has painted themselves into a corner with iOS. what made it so great when it launched - at a time when touchscreen devices were not pervasive - was its simplicity and intuitiveness. nowadays the usage of a touchscreen device is common and accepted, and the features in iOS that made it simple are holding it back. Perhaps they're afraid of negative backlash resulting from drastic changes.
