Got up at 2 to stash the kids stuff.
Managed to fall back asleep.

Hopefully a pretty low key day.

Christmas at my parents last night was pretty much a disaster. My mom got elder kiddo a nut cracker snow globe. Which she loved, a proceeded to drop a break and then she cried the rest of the time that she killed the nut cracker.

Was a good day here but we Skyped my brother and that ended up with him in tears at the end which set my mom off. Poor dude has shrunk 4" in height, lives in a bunch of pain and because of the strokes he had he has massive light sensitivity problems and a constant head bob, then add in the Generalized Dystonia and he's housebound.
Have no idea how he keeps his shit together.

I had a power nap then went for a 2hr ride, seemed the fork really did need a service, feels so much better now.

Merry Christmas and Hanukkah, muchambo. Dogs got me up to poop at 4:00 a.m. but then we went back to sleep until 7:30. I am on dog quarantine duty today while the wife skis, but I do have a 5K race to run at 10:30.

Haven't been on the :monkey: in a while cause life has been super busy so figured I'd stop in and say hi. Currently in the midwest chilling with my wife's family for the holidays. Missing out on all the white fluffy stuff biking and skiing back home in WNY.

Merry Christmas you filthy animals.

I have no idea where I am
Worst Christmas season in my 29 year professional career. But at least one thing went right. I made a sterling silver pendant with the Appalachian Trail symbol for Honey Badger and it got delivered yesterday evening. And she loves it.

Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate or don’t celebrate.

No Xmas spirit around here.
Can't wait for January 2nd.
GF worked late yesterday selling booze to last minute shoppers.
Still dang cold, but we'll go out in the woods once it warms up.

Riding past the morgue.

Long-ish run yesterday, followed by blood donation. Slept horribly, even by my already low standards. Time to get up and start the waffles, I suppose. I'm sure the teenager won't be awake for a couple more hours and then we can do presents.

Time to get up and start the waffles,
Waffles you say?

The Waring goes on road trips with me and this is my go to recipe.

I usually make a double batch and freeze "leftovers", too I substitute heavy whipping cream (and add a bit of water re: hydration) and use maple syrup in lieu of sugar.

Fat makes (most) things mo' betterer...

Merry (COVID) Christmas Monkeys!

Supposed to be free golf day but it's damn wet out there, so Imma stay inside. Sucks not seeing the kids today, but we still gotta isolate and shit.

I let Monday out for the first time since she got her lion cut. She's got a good base layer and it's 42 freedoms, so she's fine. But we have created a monster. She's usually just in the master bedroom (with her own door to outside), but was given free reign of the house during home confinement. She's still not fully comfortable with Abbey (she has been chased a couple times), but she is fully comfortable with the whole house.

My annual Xmas Eve party host left the area earlier this year so a few orphans of the event tried to make something happen. Four of us were the only ones available, and two of them got sick. So the remaining two of us changed the location and found one more person to join us. The three of us sat around watching Rare Exports and eating gingerbread. The guy who hosted had a driving simulator gaming setup so we all took some race laps. I had never played before, so I mostly drove my Lambo like a lawnmower and kept going back to the pit for repairs.

wifey is out riding her horse which means I can get projects done 3x faster without out having to stop every 5 minutes to explain why I am doing things one way vs another. Just cleaned out the metal dryer vent line of lint with a new toy that let me do it in 5 minutes. Now to go work on the camper

Was at Fred Meyer and saw they had small cans of pure pumpkin @ 2 for $1. The pups get a tablespoon with food, so we go through a little. But that price is nuts. I grabbed a cart, grabbed 2 cases and headed out. The checker was laughing at $117 for 2 cases of pumpkin until she put in my phone number. $24, done. :rockout:
