I've always said that this trend was going to die when a fixed gear was to pop up in walmart.

Do you have any proof of that? If you have any other trends you care to point out let me know as I getting closer to retirement and I need to make up some ground quickly....

Wow, I'd hate to be the PM having to explain the dismal sales of these in a corporate meeting. Anybody remember the "road" bikes that showed up at Target and Walmart a few years back? Still see them? I certainly don't.

If you want a cheap, disposable bike you can get a mtn bike for $99. *And* it has gears.
