I live in Portland, I would get stabbed if I carried anything other than a Gerber.

Those look nice though, I take it you like the tough handle. I'm a wuss, I carry a soft handle Gator (first production run) like this that I have had since Desert Storm.

There are plenty of great blades for sure. Having Gerber in my back yard is a nice bonus though. I have a smaller one with a clip I carry at work. My Gator is when I am working at the barn or in the yard.

I always have a Leatherman Wave on my belt. Its the Boy Scout in me that makes me do it. I will sometimes carry a Spyder Co. though. It is a little too big for every day use and the fully serrated blade makes it better for camping applications. I also have a few fixed blade Buck knives that I carry along when I go hunting.

Don't forget about fat trailer park chicks on pcp. Sometimes you have to hack through a good 35" of fat before you get to a vital organ.

i found a Spyderco and lost it. replaced it with my S&W SWAT, and that has served me well for 7yrs. i've probably not carried it with me a total of 10 days or so in that time period.

A few years back, I was doing something stupid and busted the tip of my Gator trying to pry on something (I forget what). I busted nearly a half inch off the tip and was pissed. I called Gerber and they said to drop it off.

I drove down there and dropped it off. The gal asked if I cared bout the blade since it was a first production run. I told her I just wanted a whole knife. 3 days later, they told me it was done. When I opened it up, it had a brand new first production run blade in it. I was stoked! They guy said they had a few on hand just in case.

Not only am I happy with the blade, but the service and company are top notch as well.

Benchmade is the only way to go. I have a Griptlian myself and love it. I have had it for about 2 years and no complaints about it. Cant wait to purchase more, btw swing by the benchmade forum. Lots of good knife porn there :D.

Ka-Bar knives rock...I completely forgot I need to own one. I carry around a beretta partially serrated skeletonized lockback, its actually a pretty solid knife and looks pretty darn cool too.
