nice griptillian's! i have one laying around somewhere, but i misplaced it and that real irks me.
I do carry a spyderco delica with me daily though. I bought it used a couple years ago for 10 bucks, with a broken clip. I sent it back to spyderco and they sent me a new one for the 4 dollar shipping. I was stoked to say the least. 50 dollar knife for 14. can't beat that.
I don't really like his designs, but the quality looks good. Any idea what process he's using? they look machine cut to me, but I'm new at the knife making game.
I use mine constantly. Opening boxes, cutting branches while riding, slashing tires(only kidding) tightening screws, opening beer, opening more beer, some people have no real use for a knife others have about a milion uses for them.
I always carry one on rides, and I used to carry mine constantly - I lived out in the middle of nowhere, I had horses and dogs, and camped or hiked almost every weekend. After a while, it gets to be a habit. I used the knife almost every day - so I carried it every day.

On the left....brand new...on the right...5 years of abuse, but still in great working condition.
Those are the knives I generally carry. Nice fit in my hand, and they're cheap enough that I don't care if I break off the tip using it as a pry bar or something.
I'd love a Benchmade, have wistfully perused their catalogue for years, but have never been able to justify spending $100+ on a knife.
I am a big knife guy, I carry 6 or 8 on me at all times. Nah, not really. But I always have one (A good folder, today a CRKT M16-13T) because I live by the maxim that it is better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Same reason I carry a spare inner tube with me when I pedal.
im huge on my knives. i have a benchmade stryker (tanto point), a benchmade auto stryker (clip point), and a benchmade benchmite. plus i have a gerber multi plier 400. i have a bunch of old hunting knives laying around the house too. i think they were bucks plus i had a victronox climber deluxe, but it was lost on a camping trip
If you like the Griptilians I am able to get them at about $60 a peice brand new in package from a store near me. PM me if your interested.
Like I stated before Bechamade makes a great knife, yeah they are pricey but you get what you pay for. My Grip has been treating me well the whole time I have owned it. I am looking at the fixed blade version of it to fit my next purchase (forgot to post the link earlier)

About 6 months ago I had about 25 Auto Stykers. Sold them all in one day. Its nice knowing people who can get those things . Bad thing about owning one is that if sumthing happens to it, you really cant send it in for warrenty or repair unless you are in law enforcment,EMT, military, etc etc.
I was on a trip with a guy, and watched him pay $225 for a Benchmade. I told him his wife would wack him with a frying pan for it. He replied that he wore the pants in the family, yadda yadda. Two weeks after we got back, I hear him and the wife arguing in his office about the knife and money in general! Best thing is, he lost it in the woods a few months later! I couldnt stand him anyway, so served him right! I always idiot string (leash) my knives and other essential kit off to my belt or gear. I HATE losing stuff that didnt need to be lost.
My favorite new knife is a Gerber Applegate-Faribairn folder with the cool titanium finish. I got a killer deal on it, about $60 under the regular price.

I think he uses a lathe and mill for somethings but most of it is hand done. He also makes some awesome jewellery that local galleries buy from him to sell. Truely amazing if you ever got to see any of it in real life.
Yeah, I live near Ft. Lewis. About 4 months ago they had all the Gerbers on sale with 25-50%off. Needless to say, I stocked up I just wish that AAFES would get a better deal with Benchmade. Gerbers are decent for the money, however they have nothing on Benchmades. I am satisfied with my Gerber multitool though.
