Anyone see this bike in person? Does it have rack mounts front and rear?
I've been tossing around the idea of getting a Surly Steamroller as kind of an around town bike, I have some Nitto bars set aside for it, etc. But I really don't like the new '08 Steamroller color (petty, I know), and the Kona comes complete.
What is the max tire size on that frame?
Ironically the Kona is pretty much the exact color I wanted too...

The bike is cool, but I want to run racks, at least front, not sure on the rear though. It looks like the fork has mounts though.

Haha, another bike?
You know me, I always want another one, even when my newest one isn't even here yet.
This is what I spend my $$$ on, better than drugs or booze I suppose eh?

I just really dig the townie-type bikes right now.

What's the fascination with Nitto? All the SS/FG guys on bf.net drool over their stuff.

So please educate me as I've never seen any of it in person :)

I think I will! I'll call them when I'm back from my trip next week.
I like those Nitto bars because they're just classic, perfect for a bike like that.
The fixie folks probably dig their track stuff, which is really nice. I have a pair of these:

I had Nitto bars on my Univega super poo - in the early to mid 80s many upper end bikes came equipped with Nitto bars - in the day they where one of the few accessible brands with a large variety of shapes and sizes for nearly every rider. At the time pretty much everything available to your average rider was one size fits all.

the paddy wagon for the money is a very nice bike. i can't recall if it had mounts on either end, email scott or someone at kona they'll be able to tell you that.
i want to say they came stock with 28's on them. they had room to go a bit bigger. but it could depend on the gear ratio being run and how much slack you have in the chain to put the wheel in a specific spot on the horizontal drops.

Nitto mustache bars would be a great choice on that frame. I have a fixed gear that I have run with track bars, bullhorns, and the Nitto mustache bars. For climbing, the mustache bars were the favorites.

I also have a frame with disc mounts and an EBB that is currently set up with On-One Midge bars. The Nittos may make an appearance on that as well.

I'm totally buying that bike next week when I get back, I've made up my mind. Nitto bars are the first upgrade for sure. That, and a sweet front rack. Paul makes a super dope one, but kinda spendy...

And out of stock until after they finish moving. I want a set too!

God, I'm bored tonight, sitting here surfing the web and watching "Chuck" on NBC. Keep going back to Kona's site to drool over this thing.
I'm ordering it up on Monday for sure then spending next weekend changing out all the cool parts.

i've been looking at the kona, the gangster (specializeed with bullhorns) the pista, sputnik, the madison, blablabla. Anything in the 4 to 700 dolla range.
on the the things i like about the kona is the fork. it's not perfect but looks like a nice oldschool steel crowned fork. i decided on the gangster but waited too long. they sold out of my size in the shop and specialzed is finished with the run.
If your a 52cm i know a shop that has a kona on the floor.

I decided on the Sputnik i really like the 631 steel and flat black finish but i think i'm going to get the madison, i like the shiny steel finish on the rear and fork AND i can get one through my shop at a discount. i'll add bullhorns and those little lazy brakes but that's it.

No, I'm a 58, but I'm gonna get it direct from Kona, but thanks anyway.
Those bikes are all cool, I just really like the Kona, the fork, graphics, and especially the color. Exactly what I want.
I'll just wait.
I think I'm gonna get a Felt Curbside while I wait, they should have more this week. Lose the argyle though, and I have a bunch of parts here to "upgrade" it, should be pretty fun/funny...

A Paddy Wagon frame arrived here today, super stoked! They didn't have any forks, but no biggie, I can come up with one of those pretty easily.
Time to start building it...

The geared version of the PW the "Honky Tonk" is something I'm kinda interested in. Steel, cheap, and decent looking.

I think this fork might be overkill:

But it's all I have right now. Bummer as it's the one with the red dropouts...
