Has anyone seen the NEW SCOTT CR-1 Team Issue road bike--supposedly the strongest, lightest production bike in the world (the frame weighs less than 2 lbs!!!). Only 100 were imported into the country and we have 4 of them in Shreveport at our LBS oddly enough.

They are very cool!

Maitre D: And finally, monsieur, a wafer-thin mint.

Mr Creosote: No.

Maitre D: Oh sir! It's only a tiny little thin one.

Mr Creosote: No. **** off - I'm full... [Belches]

Maitre D: Oh sir... it's only wafer thin.

Mr Creosote: Look - I couldn't eat another thing. I'm absolutely stuffed. Bugger off.

Maitre D: Oh sir, just... just one...

Mr Creosote: Oh all right. Just one.

Maitre D: Just the one, sir... voila... bon appetit...

is that thing like really flexy. would seem like it would at 14.9 pounds. and how does one justify paying 2650 for a ridgid frame . its not like it comes with an expensive shock or anything. or some hightech suspension design.

At that weight, you pay that much money so I doesn't fold up under you when you sit on the seat

define production?

The six13 is the lightest true production bike. 14.6lbs stock, and YES, you could drop weight from it no problem.
(minus ksyrium ssc sl's, add ultra light carbon tubulars)

there is a rochester local (vader) with an old caad5 cdale that was 13.9lbs a while ago.

its not even flexy, the six13 has a beeeeeeeeeaaautiful ride quality.

and just for sheer sillyness....

THIS.... is the LIGHTEST (possibly most ridiculous) bike ever.

My Homegrown is at 21-22lbs...I could get it to 18 if I had a few hundred bucks and a drill though :P

And if I didn't particularly care if everything broke after one ride :\

Umm...I was leafing through the issue of Bicycling where they do the "Carbon Superbike Shootout" and they listed the Six13 Record at 16.something pounds.
