I have used a Niterider HID. lots of light long run time. However, watch the wiring last year at Pats peak as I was finishing up a lap a wire internally broke. and I had to jury rig it.
Next one I do I will probably use 2 Splat-o-light's
I've been using the iBlaast II for about a year. One of the brightest LED lights available, it's as bright as a HID but with a more flood-like beam. Good battery life, you can buy your own batteries of whatever capacity you choose for longer life. Most importantly, relatively cheap for how bright it is compared to other big name lights.
